The Inertia Driven® System was originally developed for Benelli semi-auto shotguns more than 40 years ago. Without ever needing adjusting, this system utilizes the energy from recoil to cycle anything from light field loads to heavy magnums with consistent reliability, year after year.

The Inertia Driven® System is simple with only three primary parts: the bolt body, the inertia spring and the rotating bolt head. Because gas, smoke and burnt powder residue are expelled out of the barrel, rather than being channeled into the gun’s mechanism, Benelli guns shoot cleaner than any other shotgun. This allows them to be much easier to maintain, increasing reliability. With no springs, action bar linkage, or heavy gas cylinder under the forend, Benelli semiautos balance perfectly.
